MRJ’S Member Services
MRJ’s members are the affiliated brotherhoods, men's clubs
and other organized men’s groups in Reform congregations throughout North America. MRJ
is at its best providing its affiliate members with the following:
- Programmatic Resources: The
National organization serves as a programmatic resource clearinghouse
compiling and distributing resource material and guides on leadership, membership,
programming, fund raising, and social action projects, etc.; (view the Resource
Guide)
- Innovative ‘men’s -only’ programs:
MRJ is the Reform Movement’s leading creator and distributor of programs
that specifically address the needs of men. Several modules relating to
both Men's Health and Jewish
Observance are available and more are being planned.
- Networking Opportunities: Region
and national conferences, biennial conventions, tailored leadership
training programs, internet chat groups (e.g. MRJLEADERS), and specialized
interactive web-discussion boards etc. all provide the leaders of our
affiliates with numerous networking opportunities;
- Field Visits: MRJ provides tailored guidance and
assistance by experienced volunteer and professional leadership;
- Leadership Opportunities: Every
brotherhood has representation on the MRJ Board of Trustees; and national
executive council leadership is drawn from this body;
- A National Brotherhood Voice within
the Reform Movement: as an independent affiliate of the Union for Reform Judaism, MRJ has representation on
many URJ committees, including the URJ College Committee, Social Action
Commission, Commission on Jewish Family Concerns, Commission on
Interreligious Affairs, and the MRJ president serves on the URJ Board of
Trustees.
